A GHOST STORY OUT OF THE PASTI was going thru a Harpers Weekly antique newspaper i have from 1862, and inside
I found a story about the paranormal. It was reported from England in April of that year, about 3 men in a limestone
quarry and it was titled:
"BURIED ALIVE!"
I will eventually put it on our website in full,
but here's what it said:
During a violent rain and thunderstorm, the three had taken cover in a small cave
they had dug out of the hillside to store things in. They also used it as a shelter. One day during a sudden
storm, they were forced to take refuge in the cave. Two of the men were in the back trying to stay away from the effects of
the lightning which seemed to be all around them. The other man, Aldham, taken to being a quite man of religion, sat
at the entrance to the cave a started reading from his bible. "Tho I walk through the valley of the shadow of death...."
at that moment there was a terrible crash as a tree above them was struck by lightning and fell over covering the entrance
to the cave and burying the men alive in limestone and chalk. Because the two men were in the back, a portion of the
roof which fell in, made a great hole above them, so that air was able to reach them. Eventually they were dug out,
except for Aldahm who was not so lucky. When they dug him out he was alive but in a comma. They took him to his
house and the doctor made him comfortable but there was little they could do. His two friends came by to see him and
a few days later, Thursday, they met with the other members of their bible study group at one of their homes. Just
as they started to read "Tho I walk through the valley of the shadow of death...." in walks Mr. Aldham, their friend,
only he is mostly transparent. He walks in and sits down in an empty chair. Their is a long pause and no one wants
to say anything in the room. Aldham says: "I shall fear no evil...." and finishes the verse, gets up, turns
and walks thru the door to the back yard. When they gather up the courage to open the door, they can see all the
way down the road and their is no one in sight. Just then, the church bells ring tolling the passing of their friend
Aldham, a few miles away. They all knew what it meant and one guy looked at this time piece, it was 6:20pm. Later
they found out he had died at exactly 6:20pm.
This is a true story from the past and was not a made up tale.
Their are names, dates, and specifics that make it surely true. It was tucked away in the paper next to ads for pistols
and roller skates(yes they had roller skates in the civil war).

FIRST CROSSINGThe first time i tried to crossover a spirit by myself, I felt quite unsure
about myself. It is normal to have doubts about something new, especially if you can't see the dead or hear them in
your head. I have heard things and caught flashes of images at times, but I have not learned how to turn it on as well
as I would like. So I use a DR-60 EVP recorder, the best frontline source of feedback. A few days ago, Doug and
I had been discussing a sould that followed him home and was trying to get his attention. WHen he used his DR-60 to
contact the spirit, he at first thought the guy was angry or threatening. I convinced him that he was just excited and
to try to get more information. Well he did.
He got some pretty clear "help me" and "won't
you help me please" responses. So I said to Doug, "this guy saw you and knows you can help him, so try to
cross him over yourself, you got nothing to lose." So after a few suggestions, Doug got more EVP's and even verified
answers using a pendulum. The ghost was pretty excited! So Doug started the process and after about 30 minutes,
he felt a breeze go past him and felt the calmness return to the room. When he tried his pendulum, it did not move.
When he tried to get an EVP, nothing. He had done it!!! It wasn't easy but he held fast and did not give up and
by doing this helped a soul get to see his family again. Now that's how you start a new year!!!! You start it
with your FIRST CROSSING.
